The Dean of Faculty of Electrical Engineering opens a call for Assistant professor in the field of quantum computing – 1 position
Essential qualifications and skills
- Master Degree and PhD in technical science
- eligibility for pedagogical and research work
- teaching experience within quantum computing, broadly construed. Evidence of producing high quality relevant content.
- willingness to teach some of variational quantum algorithms and adiabatic quantum computing (an MSc-level course newly introduced at CTU), quantum optimal control (an MSc-level course newly introduced at CTU), introduction to quantum computing (the largest quantum computing course in the Czech Republic).
- expertise and research plans in quantum computing. Research focus of some of the current faculty include: variational quantum algorithms, open quantum systems, quantum system identification and control, quantum random walks.
Also desirable:
- publications in leading venues in both quantum computing (Nature/Science, Quantum, PRL) and AI (NeurIPS, AAAI, etc)
- some expertise in applications of quantum computing in the industry such as finance, chemistry
- experience with supervision of PhD students
- good knowledge of English
Except of research activities, participation in project proposal preparation and other funding activities, scientific publications in top international journals and conferences we expect teaching, including student master’s and bachelor’s theses supervision, as well as supervising or co-supervising PhD students.
