A Czech-Chinese laboratory opens at FEE CTU in Prague

In June 2013, a joint Czech-Chinese laboratory was opened at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU in Prague. This laboratory will be operated jointly by the Czech Technical University in Prague and by the China CNR Corporation. The opening ceremony and the signing of memoranda was attended by representatives of both parties. The laboratory will be fully equipped by CNR, and the reconstruction of the building was funded by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU in Prague.

The aims for the research carried out in the joint laboratory will be set by the Joint Center Committee, which is composed of three representatives from CNR and two representatives from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. For the Czech side, the lab will be run by experts from the Department of Electric Drives and Traction, who also teach on the bachelor and master study programmes in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Management. This international cooperation opens up new perspectives for further activities in promising areas of scientific research and industrial applications.

Cooperation with CNR, a major progressive Chinese company, gives CTU in Prague and other Czech institutions and companies an opportunity to succeed in the rapidly and dynamically growing East Asian region.
