Nanostructures for Engineering Applications

The Advanced Materials Group (AMG) at the Department of Control Engineering obtained the project Nanostructures for Engineering Applications. The main objective of the project is to find optimal materials for three branches of applications: cutting tools, self-lubricating layers and optical elements by combining predictive simulations, the new plasma technologies and laser machining. The project is led by Tomáš Polcar, the industrial partners are Hofmeister and Piston Rings Komarov. The project budget is 99 million CZK, 80 million for AMG.
