Anotation:

The subject discusses the basic chapters of building physics - part hygrothermal performance of buildings in an overview manner with the aim of providing basic information to students coming from non-construction bachelor's fields and at the same time supplementing knowledge and linking it with contexts for students coming from civil engineering.

Study targets:

obtaining an overview in the field of hygrothermal performance of buildings and building components, as a tool for reduction of energy demand of buildings while maintaining comfort and following the principles of sustainability

Content:

The subject informs about the application of the knowledge of heat settlement for building structures and their details. Attention is paid to moisture in building structures. The construction and energy concepts of buildings are mentioned as a guide. Attention is also paid to methods of measurement and monitoring of buildings. The lesson includes an excursion to the University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings.

Course outlines:

General context – environmentally oriented requirements Heat transfer in building constructions One-dimensional heat conduction. Thermal resistance and thermal transmittance Heat loss through the building Multidimensional heat conduction, thermal bridges and thermal couplings Moisture in constructions Non-steady state, thermal inertia Winter and summer thermal stability of rooms and buildings Building energy principal solution of buildings Integration of RES systems into building envelopes Measurements and monitoring methods Excursion to the University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings
