Anotation:

Basics of building structures. Functional requirements, structural systems, spatial effect of the structural system. Vertical load-bearing structures, floor structures, overhanging structures. Envelopes of buildings, windows, partitions, floors, suspended ceilings. Stairs, roof construction – timber roof trusses, roof envelopes. Foundation structures, structural solution of the substructure, waterproofing of the substructure. Structural systems of single and multi-storey buildings, structural systems of long-span structures.

Study targets:

The student will acquire a basic orientation in terminology, in constructions of building structures, in technologies and the construction process of building structures.

Content:

Basic classification and development of building structures. Requirements for building structures. Structural systems – final review. Vertical structures – requirements and principles of structural design, material and technological variants of load-bearing walls, openings in load-bearing walls. Horizontal structures – requirements and principles of structural design, material and technological variants. Overhanging structures. Envelopes of buildings, windows, partitions, floors, suspended ceilings. Stairs - requirements, shape solutions, design principles, variants. Roof construction, roof envelopes. Foundation structures, substructure, waterproofing of the substructure. Structural systems - long-span and high-rise buildings, superstructures.
