Anotation:

The course introduces basic technical principles of electricity transmission and distribution. There are explained parameters of power systems key elements, steady states, transient and failure phenomena, main principles of dimensioning and protecting, power quality and its control and electrical machines characteristics and utilization.

Course outlines:

1. Electrical power systems key elements models in time domain and harmonic steady state
2. Power and energy in single-phase and three-phase systems, power factor compensation
3. Distribution and transmission lines parameters
4. Coils and capacitors parameters used in electricity transmission and distribution
5. Basic network calculations ? system steady states
6. Basic network calculations ? basic failure states
7. Dimensioning of power system elements
8. Protection and securing, selectivity
9. Voltage and frequency control in ES
10. Power quality
11. Basic types, characteristics and utilization of DC machines
12. Basic types, characteristics and utilization of induction machines
13. Basic types, characteristics and utilization of synchronous machines
14. Summary, reserve
