The topic for May 20th is How is teaching financed?
Most of us are familiar with the notion that education at universities is underfunded. It is something of an accepted fact. But how many of us thought about what that exactly means?
Where does the education money come from? How is it distributed to departments? How well does it cover the teaching costs? How is it allocated to teachers? How much is teaching subsidized?
First we will discuss KOMETA2, the methodology used to allocate teaching money to departments at the faculty. Then representatives of the Cybernetics, Computer Science and Computer Graphics and Interaction departments will say a few words about how teaching is funded at their departments. Afterwards there will be a Q&A session.
