Results of the elections to the Academic Senate of FEE CTU and CTU

The academic community of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU elected representatives to the Faculty and University Academic Senate (AS). Five new senators were elected to the student part of the AS of FEE. In the FEE academic staff constituency, 13 seats were renewed.

Elections to the AS CTU, in which this time only the composition of the student part was decided, had to be repeated due to low participation.

The elections for the Academic Senate of FEE and the Academic Senate of CTU were held from 26 to 28 November 2024. Due to the low turnout, the elections for the Academic Senate of CTU had to be repeated at the beginning of December. In the second round, a minimum turnout is no longer required; at least 15% of the votes cast are sufficient to be elected to the Senate. Of the 3,530 eligible voters, 476 turned out for the second round of elections to the CTU AS. Therefore, 70 votes were enough to be elected. Jan Blaha was elected a member of the CTU AS with a total of 271 votes.

The academic part of the AS FEE traditionally shows a high voter turnout, which this time reached 67.2%.

To be elected to the Senate, it was necessary to obtain at least 15% of the counted votes, i.e. at least 28.16 votes. The elected were prof. Jan Faigl, dr. Karel Fliegel, doc. Jaroslav Roztočil, dr. Hana Turčinová, doc. Jan Voves, dr. Vladimír Janíček, prof. Ondřej Jiříček, dr. Petr Štěpán, doc. Jan Kyncl, Dr. Václav Navrátil, Dr. Pavel Hrzina, Dr. Ivana Beshajová Pelikánová and Dr. Radek Havlíček.

Five seats were up for grabs in the student part of the AS FEL. In the election, 548 voters voted out of a total of 3530 eligible voters, which represents 15,5 %. Five members of the Senate were elected in this election. Jiří Němeček received the most votes with 243, followed by Veronika Válková with 205, Iva Burýšková with 178, Aneta Furmanová with 169 and Iva Králová with 164. The other candidates who became alternates are Ondřej Štogl with 157 votes, Barbora Kindlová with 146 votes, Zbyněk Plachý with 113 votes, Jaroslav Pazourek with 105 votes and Jakub Zdráhal with 99 votes.

The elections were held in accordance with the rules and were ensured by the Election Commission headed by Dr. Jakub Svatos, Ing. Jindřiška Deckerová and doc. Petr Habala.
