"We are looking for skilled bastlers and other explorers of blind paths who will participate in the construction of a scientific base in the newly discovered Jurassic locality of the Písek Mountains," said Dr. Zbyněk Kocur from the Department of Telecommunication Technology at FEL on behalf of the organizing team. After initial training in Dejvice, Prague, the team of young scientists will arrive in an initially very inhospitable environment. One of the first things they will do on the beach will be to build a solar power plant because the exploration team certainly cannot do without electricity.
And what does an adept need for expedition and survival in felcamp "Jura"? Apart from courage and a willingness to endure a little discomfort, an (at least slightly) adventurous nature and a (strong) interest in electronics, energy, communication technology or IT. But at the same time, participants will not miss out on the traditional campfire events, including evening campfires with both roasts and science talk. Registration is easy and online. And preferably as soon as possible - places are limited. It is also worth following FEE CTU on social media!
In cooperation with the industrial partner, Cetin a.s., one remarkable innovation in the field of telecommunications will also be presented during the FEL Camp. And the student team will also use it in their technical experiments. "In the context of the developing 5G mobile network infrastructure, suitable applications and business models are still being sought. While the RedCap class of devices does not offer breakneck data rates, it promises a good performance-to-price ratio for industrial applications and the Internet of Things. At the FEL Camp we will test this technology," says Associate Professor Jiří Vodrážka, event organizer and head of the Department of Telecommunications Engineering
Other FEL Camp partners are TTC Marconi and Rohde & Schwarz.
"Successful graduates of our mission will be prepared for subsequent studies not only to explore new worlds but also to get to know themselves better." Dr. Kocur summarized.
The five-day mission will start on 4.8.2025 at the CTU FELU in Prague. Transportation to and from the venue is provided. The event is being conducted under the guidance of experienced faculty instructors with the help of our students. Join us for an adventure and help us capture rare dinosaur species!
