Dr. Giulia D’Angelo, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, has received the Le Tecnovisionarie® 2025 International Award. The ceremony took place on May 28 at the National Museum of Science and Technology “Leonardo da Vinci” in Milan.

The award is promoted by Women&Tech – Associazione Donne e Tecnologie, founded by Gianna Martinengo, and is presented to women who demonstrate a strong ethical vision and social impact in their professional work.  Each edition highlights outstanding women under 40 who are shaping the future in fields such as artificial intelligence, new materials, energy, space, environment, health, and biotechnology.

Giulia leads the ENDEAVOR project at CTU FEE, which leverages neuromorphic computing and event-driven cameras to design energy-efficient, real-time active vision systems for robotic applications. Her research bridges neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and robotics, and is inspired by how the human brain processes visual information.

“This award has been an incredible opportunity and a moment of recognition that reminds me of my value, especially during times when I doubt myself,” said Giulia. “It’s also an important opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women and to show younger generations that there is a bright future for everyone.”

Giulia completed her PhD at the University of Manchester in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology, focusing on spiking neural networks and neuromorphic visual attention for the humanoid robot iCub. Alongside her academic work, she actively promotes science outreach through podcasts such as Brains&Machines and Sottosoglia and inclusion in STEAM.

The Le Tecnovisionarie® prize celebrates female talent, vision, and innovation, and highlights women who are not just imagining the future—but building it.
