"The CTU.24 is the embodiment of a year of work on the car itself and many years of development and efforts to improve our monoposts. Participation in EXPO is a great opportunity for us to present the technical maturity and innovativeness of Czech engineering on the international stage during the week of autonomous technologies organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Region of Karlovy Vary", said team captain Jan Cába.
It was with CTU.24 that the team had an extremely successful racing season last year, culminating in victory in the autonomous category at the Formula SAE Italy competition and silver in the static Engineering Design Event. Before that, the formula won bronze at the prestigious Formula Student Germany competition and won the autonomous category at the FS Czech competition in Most.
The main day for the formula at the world exhibition will be July 9, when in the auditorium of the Czech pavilion, representatives of eForce will describe the autonomous system that brought the team to the winning positions last year.
"We will talk about machine vision, route planning, and subsequent driving,” said Daniel Měkota, who works in eForce in the Electronics section. The team members will also show some components of the formula, which will bring visitors closer to the topics described practically. “In addition, visitors will try out an interactive program that introduces the regulation and control of the formula,” pointed out Daniel Měkota.
The participation of eForce Prague Formula will take place under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce of the Region of Karlovy Vary (KHK KK) and is also supported by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Rectorate of the CTU. The KHK KK is dedicated, among other things, to supporting student projects and activities. “We are glad that we could make the achievements of Czech students visible in this way,” adds Petr Vašta, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KHK KK.
"The eForce Prague Formula team has been proving for a long time that our faculty is home to exceptionally talented and hard-working students. The presentation of their autonomous formula at the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition is not only a tribute to their excellent work but also a great demonstration of the ability of FEE CTU to educate engineers who push the boundaries of technology. I am proud that we can support this project," said Professor Petr Páta, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Associate Professor Marek Španiel, said: "The eForce Prague Formula team is the oldest student team at CTU in Prague. Last season was the first season after the merger of the teams of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the successes achieved by the team confirm that it was a step, although not easy, in the right direction. Today, the eForce Prague Formula team represents not only CTU at the EXPO, but also the skills, diligence, and will of the next generation of Czech technicians. I'm proud of the great work of our students.”
Opportunity for new contacts
According to Jan Cába, participation in the EXPO is a great chance to develop relations with foreign industry and potential partners. "We believe that these meetings will bring inspiration and open the door to future new collaborations. This participation builds on the successful presentation of eForce at the previous EXPO in Dubai, where the team gained valuable experience and established important contacts," summarized the team captain.
In late January/February 2022, the eForce team demonstrated the autonomous DV.01 formula in Dubai. At that time, the team was still developing separate formulas for manned and autonomous racing. The change came in 2023 when, in response to the demands of Europe's most prestigious student races, it combined the autonomous and piloted formula into one machine.
