For employees For students

We cordially invite you to an exceptional lecture by Prof. Neil Gershenfeld from MIT, a leading innovator and scientist at the intersection of digital technology and the physical world, director of the Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA), and founder of the global Fab Lab network.

Prof. Gershenfeld will deliver his lecture, entitled From Bits to Atoms, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Zenger Lecture Hall at Karlovo náměstí 13 (KN:E-107). Admission is free, but the organizers would appreciate registration via the form in order to estimate capacity.

Neil Gershenfeld is a professor at MIT and director of the prestigious Center for Bits and Atoms. He studied physics at Swarthmore College (BA) and received his PhD from Cornell University. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the AAAS and APS awards. He has been called the “spiritual father of the maker movement” and has been involved in the creation of more than 2,500 Fab Labs around the world.

The Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA) is an interdisciplinary research center at MIT founded in 2001 with support from the NSF. It explores the connection between digital information (bits) and physical structures (atoms). The center's research includes quantum computers, physical cryptography, digital materials, microfluidic logic, and genome rewriting. CBA operates advanced laboratories, teaches the iconic How to Make (Almost) Anything course, and supports startups and a global network of Fab Labs.
