The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU in Prague cordially invites you to the 53rd edition of the Music Encounter series, this year dedicated to the memory of Prof. František Vejražka. The evening will honor his life and legacy through music and a selection of family photographs.
The concert will feature Jiří Bárta – cello and Terezie Fialová – piano, performing selected works by Antonín Dvořák. The program of the evening is as follows:
● Forest Peace for cello and piano
● Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104 (piano version of the composer’s orchestral accompaniment)
○ Allegro
○ Adagio, ma non troppo
○ Finale. Allegro moderato
The concert will be hosted by Assoc. Prof. Martin Kasík, who will provide context for each composition and reflect on the life of Prof. Vejražka.
Music Encounters are approximately one-hour musical evenings featuring leading performers in a university lecture hall. They provide students, staff, and alumni of CTU’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering with the opportunity to experience classical music firsthand. This particular evening will be exceptional in its commemorative atmosphere, where music accompanied by photographs creates a space to honor a significant figure of the faculty.
Admission is free, and each visitor may bring one guest. Registration or tickets are not required unless the lecture hall reaches capacity. The recommended dress code is casual.
