Photo gallery: The best moments from the 3rd Faculty Electro-Waltz

For graduates For students For applicants For employees

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the 3rd Faculty Electro-Waltz, a ball organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, took place at the National House in Vinohrady. The Great Wings big band played music for dancing. The program again featured performances by students and employees of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University.

As always, the ceremonial opening of the ball was conducted by the Dean of FEE CTU, Prof. Petr Páta. He was followed by a few words from Josef Kaňkovský, representative of the ball's general partner, from the Strategic Recruitment and Cooperation with Schools Department of the ČEZ Group. "Alessandro Volta once said, 'Energy is the proof of life.' And when I look around me today, I see that there is indeed plenty of life here at FEL – just bring two poles slightly closer together and sparks fly through the air," he said. And the fun continued.

The main partner of the ball, Qminers, prepared a ball-themed puzzle for the guests. The contestants won valuable prizes from FEL merchandise, and the main prize was a package called "Survival Pack Zkouškové" (Exam Survival Pack). It contained a 16" ASUS ZenScreen portable monitor, Vilgain Brain Booster tablets, a 20,000 mAh power bank, and a sleep mask. In addition, guests could visit the Qminers photo corner during the evening.

Other partners of the ball were AŽD Praha, s.r.o.; CDN77; CSG Aerospace, a.s.; Ferona, a.s. a.; Sécheron Hasler CZ, s.r.o.; Technologie hlavního města Prahy, a.s. and Valeo Autoklimatizace, k.s.

As in the previous two years, the program included performances by students and employees of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague.

Creativity for KYR and theater

The first performance of the evening was prepared by two CTU students, Bohumil Brodský and Jan Jeřábek. Bohumil Brodský studies Cybernetics and Robotics (KYR) at FEL, which prepares students to encounter technologies of the future that no one has yet created. They learn to invent and thus create the future themselves. However, Bohumil also develops the creativity that is important for his studies through theater.

Together with Jan Jeřábek, a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at CTU, he performed a skit called Dále! (Further!) at a ball. They showed the audience how the worlds of the young digital generation and the analog reality of seniors are connected. The answer was a telephone cord!

From eForce to the music and light project SOMOHEX

Daniel Měkota, Jakub Štulík, and Jakub Dvořák—master's students at FEL ČVUT and long-time members of the eForce Prague Formula team—are not only skilled in electric formula racing, but also in electrifying music. In their free time, they launched the SOMOHEX project, which premiered at the FEL ball! And it immediately got the whole Majakovský Hall of the National House in Vinohrady dancing. The atmosphere was enhanced by smoke effects and a light show featuring traffic lights and other traffic signs.

SOMOHEX musically reveals the answers to questions that arise at intersections, often even those in life. The young independent sextet (in addition to the aforementioned members, Antonín Pelikán, Veronika Burešová, and Jeroným Stříteský are also part of the group) stands on the border between electronic music and audio apocalypse. Every listener will find something to their liking. Even if perhaps by accident.

Doc. Cammarata rocked the house with MoveBreakers

Doc. Antonio Cammarata from the Department of Control Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague is known to many as a lecturer and researcher specializing in materials science. However, guests at the ball also got to know him as an excellent accordionist and member of the successful band MoveBreakers.

MoveBreakers are known for their energetic concerts. They have played at festivals such as Rock for People, Mighty Sounds, and Metronome. They also shine on the stages of prestigious clubs in Czechia and abroad. MoveBreakers' lyrics oscillate between English, Czech, Italian, Spanish, French, and even Serbian, reflecting the band's multicultural roots and creativity. Each member brings their own unique energy to the band's work, from production and arrangements to the performances themselves.
