The diploma states that the award is given "for organizing Physics Thursdays at FEE." The series, which has been connecting the scientific community, students, and the public since the 1990s, is one of the longest-running popularization events of its kind in the Czech Republic. Every week during the semester, it features lectures by leading Czech and foreign experts in the fields of physics, technology, and related disciplines.
"The award confirms that Physics Thursdays have a firm place in the popularization of physics and technical sciences, and at the same time motivates us to further develop our traditional event," said Doc. Fabián, who works at the Department of Physics at FEE CTU.
Behind Physics Thursdays is a team of FEE CTU employees who are involved in the dramaturgy, technical support, and communication of the event. The series is also supported by the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at CTU. The programs regularly attract hundreds of people interested in current topics in contemporary science—from cosmology and particle physics to energy, artificial intelligence, and new materials. It is not uncommon to find students from lower grades among them, including elementary school students.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague would like to thank Associate Professor Fabián and the entire organizational team for their long-term work, which significantly contributes to the popularization of physics and technical sciences in Czechia.
