As of January 1, 2026, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU in Prague has a new Vice-Dean for Development. The position is now held by RNDr. Patrik Mottl, Ph.D., former head of the Department of Science and Research, who replaces Prof. Tomáš Svoboda.

In his new role, Dr. Mottl will focus on the further development of the faculty in the areas of research, educational activities, the social role of the faculty, and others. His priorities include improving working and study conditions, systematic care for the academic community, including adaptation and career development. The further development of technical and material equipment for teaching and research at FEE CTU is also key.

"I don't see the development of the faculty as just a question of infrastructure or strategic projects, but above all as working with people. I want to focus on making FEE a place where it is good to study and work, and where new members of the academic community can quickly and naturally get involved," says the new vice-dean, indicating his priorities.

The dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU, Prof. Petr Páta, wished Dr. Patrik Mottl every success in his new position. "I wish Patrik Mottl a successful start in his new role and look forward to working with him on the future direction of the faculty," said Dean Petr Páta, who took the opportunity to thank Prof. Tomáš Svoboda for his work in the faculty's management.

The change in the faculty's leadership is part of the long-term effort of the CTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering to systematically develop not only cutting-edge research and teaching, but also a culture of an open and supportive academic environment.

RNDr. Patrik Mottl, Ph.D. is a graduate of the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague and has been working at the CTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering since 2016.
