MSc. Václav Knap, Ph.D., is affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering Technology at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague, where he leads the research group on Battery and Energy Storage Systems. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague, and his Master’s and Ph.D. studies at Aalborg University in Denmark, where he also worked as a postdoctoral researcher. During his scientific career, he completed a research stay at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, spent several months at Dresden University of Technology in Germany, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Aalborg University and at the Danish company GomSpace. He is the author of dozens of publications in the field of electrochemical energy storage, and his work has received more than one thousand citations, demonstrating its international impact. He has long been actively engaged in teaching activities, including the successful supervision of several Ph.D. students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague, and abroad.
In his habilitation lecture, the candidate will focus on innovations and challenges in the field of batteries for CubeSats and on the use of lithium-ion technologies in the space environment. The presentation will take place before the Habilitation Committee and the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague. The lecture will also be available via live stream on Youtube.
