ČEZ Photovoltaic Academy: A Week Full of Hands-On Experience, Technology and International Collaboration

For students

Are you interested in renewable energy and keen to gain hands-on experience in the field? The Photovoltaic Academy 2026 offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of photovoltaics over the course of one intensive week, meet leading experts, and build valuable professional connections. Registration is open until 31 May.

The academy will take place from 13 to 18 September 2026, following a route across several key energy locations: Prague – Štěchovice – Buštěhrad – Ústí nad Labem – Ledvice – Málkov – Prague. Participants will gain direct access to the operations of various types of power plants and energy facilities.

The main focus of the academy is the installation, operation and diagnostics of photovoltaic systems in real-world conditions. Participants will work hands-on with technologies that form the backbone of modern energy systems, under the guidance of experts from ČEZ. The ČEZ Photovoltaic Academy is not just about theory; on the contrary, it places strong emphasis on practical experience.

The programme also includes:

  • visits to three photovoltaic power plants and one hydroelectric power plant,
  • a tour of the ČEZ renewable energy dispatch centre,
  • practical training sessions led by ČEZ specialists,
  • collaboration within a multicultural team of 15 students from the Czech Republic and 5 technicians from Zambia and Lesotho.

This international dimension enables participants to develop not only technical expertise but also communication and teamwork skills in English.

ČEZ provides participants with transport from Prague, full accommodation and catering, as well as the loan of personal protective equipment. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate.

The academy is intended for university students in electrical engineering or related fields who:

  • have a good command of English (for communication within an international team),
  • are in good physical condition (the programme includes fieldwork).
