Professorial Lecture by Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Pevný: Machine Learning on Tree-Structured Data

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague invites you to a public lecture by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Tomáš Pevný, Ph.D., held as part of the appointment procedure for the position of Professor in the field of Cybernetics and Robotics.

The lecture, titled Machine Learning on Data with Tree Structure, will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM before the Scientific Council of the FEE CTU, in lecture hall T2:D3-209 at Technická 2, Prague–Dejvice.

Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Pevný works at the Department of Computer Science at the FEE CTU, and has long focused on machine learning, particularly in the area of cybersecurity, with emphasis on steganography and data analysis. He is the author of numerous influential scientific publications with a high citation impact, and his work has also found practical applications, for example in companies such as Cisco and Avast.

In addition to his research activities, he significantly contributes to teaching and the development of study programs, including the introduction of new courses and the preparation of a specialization focused on artificial intelligence.
In its statement, the evaluation committee highlighted his world-class research, extensive international experience, and strong links to industry, and recommended his appointment as Professor.
