The ceremony was attended by leading representatives of universities, the academic community, and public administration. On this occasion, the President appointed dozens of new professors from a wide range of disciplines across Czech universities. Tomáš Haniš was appointed Professor in the field of Cybernetics and Robotics following a proposal by the Scientific Council of CTU in Prague.
Prof. Ing. Tomáš Haniš, Ph.D. has been a member of the Department of Control Engineering at CTU FEE since 2018 and currently heads the Smart Driving Solutions research centre. He also brings extensive experience from industry, having previously served as a team leader and competence guarantor for control systems design at Porsche Engineering Group, as well as a Control Systems Design Engineer at Rolls-Royce Aerospace.
Drive-by-Wire as a Key Research Focus
Professor Haniš’s current research focuses primarily on the development of innovative solutions for autonomous systems and the automotive industry, with particular emphasis on the Drive-by-Wire concept. When properly understood and implemented, this technology has the potential to significantly enhance the safety, efficiency, and comfort of future vehicles.
