Only twenty students from foreign universities were admitted to the programme. Applicants were required to submit a CV, academic records, and additional materials demonstrating their professional qualifications. Aleksandra was the only student from CTU and, according to the organisers, the first participant from the Czech Republic in several years.
The week-long programme focused on clinical engineering and digital health. In addition to academic lectures, the school offered valuable insights from professionals working in healthcare institutions and technology companies.
According to Aleksandra Bajićová, the programme confirmed that studying at FEE CTU provides a strong technical foundation.
“Whether the topic was computer science or electronics, I felt I could fully understand everything that was being discussed. FEE has given me an excellent technical background that allowed me to make the most of the lectures. At our faculty, we primarily focus on the technical aspects—mathematics, electronics, and computer science. In Trieste, I was particularly interested in seeing how these technologies actually help patients and how they function in real healthcare environments,” says Aleksandra Bajićová.
Beyond the academic programme, one of the most valuable aspects of the school was the opportunity to meet students from across Central and Southeastern Europe. The organisers have long sought greater participation from Czech students and therefore welcomed the presence of a participant from FEE CTU.
“The most valuable experience for me was meeting people from the same field but from different countries. It makes you realise that you are part of a broader professional community. For the first time, I felt I was surrounded by people working on similar topics and sharing the same professional interests.”
For students considering similar international programmes, Aleksandra has clear advice: “I would definitely recommend it to everyone. You gain not only new knowledge, but also international contacts, experience, and inspiration that are difficult to obtain in any other way.”
Aleksandra is currently completing the first year of her follow-up Master's studies. In her future Master's thesis, she plans to focus on research into low-frequency oscillations in the brain and their relationship to other biological processes in the human body. She will collaborate with experts in neuroscience and functional magnetic resonance imaging on this topic.
