The extension of the memorandum brings significant benefits to both universities involved and, above all, to their students:
For students: The opportunity to earn degrees from both CTU and the prestigious Asian university NTUST within a single programme of study. Graduates gain invaluable international experience, improve their language and intercultural skills, and significantly increase their attractiveness on the global labour market, particularly in high-tech sectors.
For the universities: Enhanced academic prestige, knowledge sharing, and a stronger position for FEE CTU as a key European hub for cooperation with Asian technology leaders. Cooperation with experts such as Prof. Chen in organising summer schools or full-semester courses also directly strengthens the quality of teaching and research in the field of semiconductors.
What is a Double Degree?
A study programme in which students spend part of their studies at their home faculty and part at a partner university abroad. Upon successful completion, they receive a university degree from both institutions.
From Ceremony to Real-World Research
The signing of the memorandum was far from the end of the programme. The ceremony was immediately followed by an expert workshop dedicated to projects of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Advanced Chip Design Research Center (ACDRC), which are carried out at CTU in cooperation with Taiwanese partners.
The workshop clearly demonstrated that the partnership between FEE CTU and NTUST goes far beyond formal agreements, generating cutting-edge applied research in microelectronics and chip technologies in which students are directly involved.
