The double degree programme is open to students enrolled in selected study programmes at both faculties. In recent years, it has been most frequently attended by CTU FEE students from the master's programme in Medical Electronics and Bioinformatics, while students from Cybernetics and Robotics, Open Informatics, and Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Management have also participated. Three CTU FEE students are currently studying in Aachen, while another student successfully completed the programme just a few weeks ago. The renewed agreement also reflects recent changes to RWTH Aachen's academic portfolio, introducing two new master's degree programmes with a broader range of specialisations, including Biomedical Systems Engineering, Communications Engineering, Micro- and Nanoelectronics, and Automation.

In addition to advanced academic knowledge, students gain valuable international experience, establish professional networks, and develop skills that prepare them for careers in research and high-tech industries. I am delighted that we have been able to extend this successful partnership for another ten years, demonstrating both its quality and the mutual trust between our institutions," says CTU FEE Dean Professor Petr Páta.
The partnership between CTU FEE and RWTH Aachen extends far beyond the double degree programme itself. The two institutions have built a long-term collaboration in research, education, and the exchange of students and academic staff. One of the key figures behind this partnership is Professor Emeritus Dr.-Ing. Vladimír Blažek of RWTH Aachen, who has made an outstanding contribution to strengthening relations between the two universities, promoting student mobility, and developing joint educational initiatives.
In recognition of his exceptional contribution, Professor Blažek received the Trnka Medal of CTU FEE from Dean Petr Páta during the POSTER 2026 Student Scientific Conference earlier this year. Since 1997, Professor Blažek has supported the annual participation of RWTH Aachen students in the POSTER conference at CTU FEE, making a significant contribution to the internationalisation of the faculty and to the long-term development of cooperation between the two institutions.
The newly extended agreement confirms that the partnership between CTU FEE and RWTH Aachen remains one of the faculty's most important international educational collaborations and will continue to create opportunities for students and academics alike in the years to come.
