Visitors to CTU Racing Day can look forward to both dynamic demonstrations by CTU student teams and static presentations, where they will have the opportunity to talk to students about everything they are interested in regarding the development of racing cars and motorcycles. The teams will be available for media interviews from 10:00 a.m.
EFORCE Prague Formula, whose members are primarily students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME) at CTU, will showcase its autonomous electric formula car, the CTU.26, on the track. In September, the car won both the autonomous and combined categories at Formula Student Italy, while it also took gold in the driverless category at Formula Student Spain in August.
"In the driver-controlled category, our biggest successes came in Autocross, which we won in both Italy and Germany," said Vít Eichler on behalf of the team. Eichler is studying Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Management at the FEE CTU.
The team, which currently has around 100 members, will also use Racing Day to recruit new members and introduce visitors to what working in the team involves.
"For next year, we are planning a completely new car concept, the design phase of which began last year alongside the development of CTU.26,” Vít Eichler explained. “This means that, for the first time in the team’s history, we worked on two cars at the same time. Next season, we will therefore have a new monocoque design, a new battery pack, a new aerodynamic package, air cooling for all motors and much more,” he added, outlining the team’s plans.
EFORCE Prague Formula has long been the most successful student formula team in the Czech Republic. In a ranking of 484 university teams from around the world, EFORCE moved up from 17th to 12th place this year, achieving the best result in the team’s history.
A Breakthrough Race for Green Gliders
"CTU Racing Day 2026 is an opportunity to showcase the talent and dedication of our faculty-based student teams, such as CTU Lions and Green Gliders. These projects not only develop students’ technical and organisational skills, but also bring innovative solutions that enhance the prestige of the entire CTU and support cooperation with industry," said Assoc. Prof. Stanislav Novotný, Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences at CTU.
The Green Gliders student team, which develops highly energy-efficient vehicles, will participate in Racing Day for the second time.
"We are preparing a presentation of our racing vehicle, the Glider Model 2, which was built completely from scratch for the 2026 season. There will certainly be a static display, and, weather permitting, we will also include dynamic demonstrations of last year’s racing vehicle,” said Ing. Michal Cenkner, a PhD student at the Department of Vehicle Technology at the Faculty of Transportation Sciences at CTU.
Ing. Cenkner described this year’s racing season as a breakthrough one.
"We managed to compete in the main race of the year, specifically the Shell Eco-marathon 2026 at the Silesia Ring in Poland. At the same time, our final efficiency result of 528 km/kWh represented a tremendous improvement for us and placed us among the best teams in Europe," Cenkner said.
Compared with its debut last year, the team more than tripled its performance, finishing 12th out of 120 teams. Michal Cenkner said the goal for next year is clear: to travel 1,000 km on 1 kWh, or at least come close to that target.
"At the same time, we are planning major modifications to the vehicle, improvements to our racing strategy, further development of our driving-efficiency simulator, and team growth. We would be happy to welcome passionate electrical engineers, as well as skilled mechanical engineers who would like to expand their experience as part of a racing team. In general, however, we appreciate anyone who is interested in our project," Cenkner stressed.
The Fastest Motorcycle on the Track
Motorcycle fans will also have plenty to look forward to at the Dejvice campus.
"We are excited to finally present our latest racing motorcycle, the CTU Lions EVO 4.0 Electric! It is the fastest motorcycle we have built so far, and we are proud of its excellent results,” said Ing. Vojtěch Thums, Team Leader of CTU Lions and a PhD student at the Department of Vehicle Technology at the Faculty of Transportation Sciences at CTU.
The CTU Lions racing season ended last October.
"That was when we achieved a fantastic seventh place overall in the racing section of the MotoStudent competition at the MotorLand Aragón circuit in Spain. This is the best result we have achieved with our motorcycles in the MotoStudent competition so far, despite the increasingly high level of competition. The teams ahead of us came exclusively from Spain and Italy, but they are already within reach. We hope that next year we will be able to build on this success and move a few more places up the standings," said Ing. Thums.
He added that, alongside its latest addition, the team will also showcase two older motorcycles from its “petrol era” during Racing Day.
The CTU Lions team includes members from the Faculty of Transportation Sciences, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, and the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies at CTU.
