The Teachers’ Club initiative aims to create a space where CTU teachers can share their experiences in giving lectures and seminars and where various aspects of teaching can be critically discussed. Experienced teachers as well as PhD students who are just starting to teach classes are welcome. For them, the meetings also act as a preparation. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required in advance.
In addition to gaining inspiration from their colleagues, interested teachers can attend similar seminars organised by partner universities within the EuroTeQ university alliance, the European Society for Engineering Education or the European University Association. All events on offer, including those abroad, can be found on the Teachers' Club page or in the Teachers' Club calendar.
The Teachers’ Club series of talks was established in 2024 as a consensus among active PhD students, department chairs and vice deans. One of those involved was Ing. Martin Zoula from the Department of Computer Science and the Artificial Intelligence Center (AIC). "As a PhD student at the faculty, I teach C programming. I love teaching, but I had to figure out how to teach largely on my own. I'm looking forward to meeting other tutors and lecturers at the upcoming events with whom I can compare my experiences and take my teaching to the next level," said Zoula before the first Teachers’ Club workshop last year.
