Faculty secondary schools

FEE collaborates with high schools on a partnership system of instruction that provides students with an effective base of knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the field of computer science and electronics.

Collaboration between the secondary and tertiary education sectors is particularly important in preparing future electrical engineering professionals, supporting exceptionally talented students and implementing lifelong learning projects. It therefore confers the title of 'faculty school' on selected secondary schools of exceptional quality.

Mutual cooperation between FEL and faculty schools

The faculty schools become partners of the faculty in providing quality education for students of bachelor, master and doctoral study programmes, especially study programmes in electrical engineering.

  • Teachers and students of the faculty schools gain the possibility of superior access to information and educational programmes implemented by the faculty through the partnership between the school and the faculty.

  • With their experience, teachers become partners of departments and research teams involved in the preparation of future computer scientists and electrical engineers and conducting research in the field of science and technology education.

  • In addition, cooperation with the faculty facilitates the recruitment of new quality teachers for teaching science subjects.

Development of science and engineering

Encouraging the interest of secondary school students in science (especially mathematics, physics, etc.) and technical subjects (especially computer science, internet, electronics, cybernetics, electrical engineering, etc.) - in the form of professional visits and popularisation events offered by the faculty (Christmas with physics, etc.)

Support for talented male and female students

Searching for and working with talented students - SOČ, cooperation on student term papers (access to laboratories, consultations, peer reviews), professional competitions for children and youth.

Grant projects

Joint grant projects - cooperation in the search, preparation and possible implementation of suitable grant projects related to areas of common interest (OPPK, Open Faculty, etc.)

Teacher training

Supporting the further education of secondary school teachers - offering professional consultations by faculty members, organising seminars for science and technology teachers (Autumn School for secondary school teachers, etc.)

Criteria for granting the title "Faculty School"

  1. The school provides quality teaching in at least two science or technical subjects. The teaching of these subjects is provided by qualified and creative teachers, who are also involved in cooperation with university experts in the field.
  2. The teaching of science and technology subjects at the school is of high quality in terms of content, in terms of the application of modern forms and methods of teaching, and in terms of material and technical support.
  3. The quality of teaching at the school is reflected, among other things, in the success of the school's pupils in subject competitions in science and technology and in the admission of the school's graduates to study at universities of a technical type.
  4. The management of the school and individual teachers are interested in good communication with the faculty and allow the research activities of faculty workplaces to be carried out in the school.
