Bohdan Zronek from ČEZ at Physics Thursday: Nuclear energy as an opportunity

For students

Could nuclear power plants be an opportunity for energy self-sufficiency and to kick-start the economy on the path to low-carbon energy? Ing. Bohdan Zronek, Director of the Nuclear Energy Division and member of the Board of Directors of ČEZ and also a graduate of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University, knows the answer. He will give a lecture on this topic on 17 April at the Physics Thursday.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU will celebrate Maundy Thursday with a lecture by Bohdan Zronek from ČEZ on the topic "Nuclear - an opportunity for you, an opportunity for the Czech Republic and Europe". It will take place as part of the popular series of Physics Thursdays, which is intended for students, teachers and the general public. Zronek's lecture will be a follow-up to his previous presentation at his alma mater in April 2023 on the topic "The Future of Energy is called Nuclear".

The operator of the secondary circuit of the nuclear power plant, Ing. Adéla Chalupová, will also be attending the lecture. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University, who this year appeared in the prestigious Forbes magazine 30 under 30 list.

She got to her job through participation in one of the Summer Universities organized by ČEZ for successful students and graduates. The deadline for applications is April 30, 2025. The same deadline applies for the SMR Camp.

Ing. František Krček, CEO of ŠKODA Nuclear Engineering, will be the next speaker of the Physics Thursday. In his presentation, he will outline the company's current role and opportunities in the development of nuclear energy.
