Invitation to OpenLab 2025: a peek behind the scenes of the EEM programme

For students For employees

Are you interested in what is behind the science and research in the Electrical Engineering, Energy and Management (EEM) programme at FEE CTU? Come and see OpenLab 2025, an open day of the departments involved in the teaching of this programme, on 6 May 2025. You will get interdisciplinary contacts, a tip for your thesis or involvement in research.

The already traditional and popular event for EEM students is for the first time this year open to those studying other disciplines. And of course, teachers who also want to make new contacts and have a look into the laboratories of the three departments: electric drives and traction, electrical engineering and economics, management and humanities of FEL CTU are also invited.

The route starts in the corner between the main building and the indoor laboratories. From 15:30 to 18:00 there will be an information booth where visitors can pick up a map with the tour route. In each lab, visitors will see the technologies while learning about possible thesis topics in the areas of power systems, electric drives and electrical engineering.

From 18:00, the event will be followed by an informal gathering on the roof of the Rector's Office, where refreshments will be served. Please confirm your attendance at the event by registering via the following link.

During last year's OpenLab, participants visited a total of 16 laboratories. For example, the 3D printing lab, where scientists from the Department of Electrical Engineering are working on, among other things, the production of electrical components from recyclable materials, or the electrical drives lab, where tests of power converters and their digital control using signal processors are carried out.
