Invitation to a lecture: Mobile communication standards and the road to 6G

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU invites students, staff, and the general public to a lecture by Dr. Miloš Tesanovic, Director of Mobile Communications Standards at Samsung Research UK and IEEE Distinguished Lecturer. The lecture is open to anyone interested in mobile networks and their future.

About the lecture

The lecture, entitled Mobile communication standards and the road to 6G, will introduce the concept and importance of technical standards in the field of mobile communications. Dr. Tesanovic will focus on the standardization ecosystem, processes in the 3GPP standardization organization, and provide specific examples of decisions on whether or not to standardize certain aspects of communication systems. The conclusion will look at the first steps towards 6G, particularly in the area of radio access networks (RAN).

About the speaker

Dr. Miloš Tesanovic is Director of Communication Standards at Samsung Research UK, where he leads activities related to research and standardization of 5G and 6G mobile networks. With his team, he participates in key 3GPP working groups (RAN2, SA2, CT1, SA1) and other institutions (ITU, ETSI, GSA, GSMA). He is the author of nearly 30 professional publications and holds more than 45 US patents. During his career, he has received numerous awards and held leading roles in European projects and within 3GPP.
