The hunger for graduates of computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering from CTU on the labour market continues unabated. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME) of CTU and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) of CTU in Prague are meeting companies by organizing the second year of the Career Days. The two-day event, which will include an accompanying professional programme, will take place on 28 and 29 March 2023 at the premises of both faculties in Dejvice.

The aim of the Career Days is to enable direct contact of three thousand FEE students and two and a half thousand FME students with employers of various sizes, ranging from giants of Czech industry to small progressive start-ups.

"According to the statistics and surveys available to us, there is no graduate of our faculty who cannot find a job. Most of them choose their future employer already during their studies. Career days give us the opportunity to further develop our cooperation with companies and put them in contact with our students. The aim is to give them a more concrete idea of the opportunities on the job market and in the professional part get suggestions for the topics of their bachelor and diploma theses," said Prof. Petr Páta, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU.

According to Prof. Petr Páta, the demand for graduates of the CTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering is based on their quality and specialization in the areas of technological trends that will shape the future of the whole society. Whether it is nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and power engineering, or telecommunication networks, bioinformatics or space technologies - all these future phenomena can be studied at FEE. Both the field of electrical engineering and, more recently, computer science CTU is ranked as the best in the Czech Republic in the prestigious international QS Ranking.

Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of CTU in Prague, Assoc. Miroslav Španiel, commented on the preparation of the second edition of the event: "Last year's Career Days proved that there is still a huge demand for graduates of mechanical and electrical engineering at CTU. Eighty industrial partners presented their companies and job offers. And over five thousand students sought information and made personal contacts with prospective employers. The course of the event confirmed that Career Days are useful not only for companies, but also for our students, so we will continue to organize such events."

According to the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering doc. Miroslav Španiel, the very good experience with the graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is due to quality study programs that provide comprehensive education for the design, preparation and management of production, construction and development of new machines as well as for the application of informatics and artificial intelligence. Graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are also prepared for interdisciplinary sectors such as energy, chemical industry, sustainable mobility, environmental engineering and biomedicine.

Eighty companies will be represented at this year's Career Days on 28 and 29 March at both faculties. The main partners will be ČEZ, Škoda Auto, GE, Bosch, Valeo, Continental, Rohde & Schwarz, Qminers, ÚJV and Altron. The programme will include company presentations, lectures, group and individual discussions and workshops.

Representatives of the companies will be available to students from 9.00 to 16.00 on both days in the corridors of the lecture halls of both faculties. Part of the Career Days will also include an accompanying programme in which companies in presentations or workshops will address students through their professional topics.
