The best works of the graduates of the Graphic Design course can be seen at the Semestrale exhibition at the Department of Computer Graphics and Interaction (DCGI) on Charles Square in Prague. During the opening, which took place on 22 October, student Klára Vachudová and student Samuel Mráz received awards. The prizes were presented to them by the academic painter Lucie Svobodová, teacher of the course, and the head of DCGI, Professor Jiří Žára. This is the twenty-fifth time The Semestrale has been held.

Klára Vachudová won the prize in the Drawing category. "I have been drawing since I was a child. I used to attend drawing clubs, and sometimes I won some competitions, but later I stopped drawing and only this year I enrolled in this course," said Klára Vachudová, who is studying Information Security at the Faculty of Information Technology of the Czech Technical University.

Samuel Mráz, a student of the Open Informatics (OI) program at the FEE CTU, was awarded in the Graphic Design category for his project “Stops”. The project connects the public transport stops with the highlighting of various interesting places in Prague. "I've been interested in drawing and art since I was a child, but I only have it as a hobby. But now I have started to take also figure drawing classes," said Mráz, who has chosen to specialize in Computer Games and Graphics at the OI. "In the future, I want to focus on video games. I like drawing and math," the student noted.

The artist Lucie Svobodová has been teaching the Graphic Design course at the FEE, which is open to students of all faculties of the CTU, since 2008. Prof. Žára pointed out that she is an extremely popular teacher and the course is in great demand. "In the summer semester, 45 students took part," noted Lucie Svobodová, who was, among other things, one of the founding figures of the Institute of Intermedia at the FEE CTU. She added that it would be great to see the Stops in Prague streets project.

This time there was also music at the opening - the band RETRiO played there.
