"At the time of the award ceremony, I was in the desert near Abu Dhabi with the team of FEE CTU - Fly4Future, which competed in the World League of fully autonomous racing flying robots. We were celebrating the team's success in the league when we got the news from the awards ceremony in Prague, which frankly shocked me. A total of 59 companies were nominated, many of which I respect and know how well they are doing. I didn't expect Fly4Future to win in such a big competition," commented the award doc. Martin Saska from Fly4Future, who is also the head of the Multirobotic Systems Group at FEL
The Fly4Future company, which was founded in 2017 as a spinout of the Multirobotic System Research Group at the Department of Cybernetics of the CTU Faculty of Engineering, has established itself as a leader in the field of autonomous drones. The team, which specializes in the development of aerial robotic systems with on-board artificial intelligence, achieved significant success in prestigious competitions in 2024, including triumphing at an international competition in Germany, where it demonstrated the high level of autonomy of its drones.
The award at the AI Awards is further confirmation of the cutting-edge research and innovation that is emerging from this collaboration between academia and industry.
