FEE CTU will organize a workshop for circuit design and a summer school of photonic systems design

For graduates For students

The Department of Microelectronics of FEE CTU will organize two interesting and practical educational events. A workshop focused on the use of tools for integrated circuit design will be in April. In June, a summer school introducing new approaches in photonics device design will be held at FEL CTU in Dejvice. Both courses are organized by FEE experts as part of the ACDRC project, are free of charge, and are aimed at both FEE students and the professional community.

The workshop will take place at the Faculty in Dejvice from 4 to 6 April. "The aim is to familiarize both the professional public and students with tools for designing analogue integrated circuits," said Dr. Vladimír Janíček from the Department of Microelectronics.  "We want to demonstrate that the design of these circuits is actually simple. It's not so different whether you are designing a printed circuit board or a chip - you are just moving in different dimensions," said Dr. Janíček.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Yu-Guang Chen from National Tsing-Hua University in Xinhua, Taiwan. The capacity for attendance is 20 people. Other interested students and experts can join online. You can register here.

Another event organized by the Department of Microelectronics is the Summer School on Silicon Photonics Design and Analysis. It will take place between 16 and 27 June - lessons and exercises will take place on weekdays. Experts from Taiwan will also participate in this event. At the Summer School, students will gain experience in designing photonic components and their use in photonic systems. Specifically, they will learn about RSoft, OptSim, L-edit photonics, OptoCompiler, advanced-design system, Matlab and kLayout software.

The summer school will take place at FEE in Dejvice. The number of places is limited. The summer school will not be broadcast online. You can apply again via the online form - the sooner, the better!
