The first place in the number of awards went to the Czech Technical University in Prague, with all eight awards going to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU. This year's expert juries evaluated 598 applications and twenty winners shared one million crowns. In the category of diploma and dissertation theses, along with the students, the supervisors and tutors of their theses also receive a reward.
"I congratulate the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU for this year's success in the Werner von Siemens Prize competition. The quality of the winning entries clearly demonstrates not only the top level of teaching, but also the excellent pedagogical guidance that the school provides to its students. I am very pleased that the authors of the two winning papers are women, who have also received the jury's recognition for the exceptional quality of women's scientific work," said Eduard Palíšek, CEO of Siemens Czech Republic.
"This extraordinary success of our students and their supervisors confirms the high level of scientific research and teaching at FEL CTU. The awarded works are not only the result of systematic and precise professional training, but above all proof that our students can bring innovative solutions with real impact on industry, energy and research of new technologies. I am proud that FEL CTU was the most successful academic institution in this year's edition and that our students and academics are among the top Czech science and technology," said Prof. Petr Páta, Dean of FEE CTU.
