This is the fourth year of this event. In previous years, approximately three and a half thousand students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and two thousand students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering attended the event each year and had the opportunity to meet with representatives of more than one hundred companies. A high turnout of students is expected again this year, who will be able to use this platform to network with major employers and obtain information on current job opportunities.
"The survey we conducted among our graduates showed that they are very successful in entering the job market. After graduation, more than half are continuing in the work they did during their studies. Another nearly 40% found a job within two months of graduation. At the time of the survey, we did not have a single unemployed person. Career days are an opportunity for us to further develop our cooperation with companies and to put them in contact with our students. The aim is to give them a more concrete idea of the opportunities on the labour market during their studies and to give them suggestions for their further professional development, including the topics of their final theses," said Prof. Petr Páta, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU.
"Industrial companies are interested in graduates of our faculty and university, and therefore they are interested in the opportunity to introduce themselves to them and offer them cooperation and future employment, which career days undoubtedly represent. Many companies are represented at the Career Days by professional staff who discuss with our students professional topics and current tasks they are solving, which is perceived by the academic community of the faculty as an important added value and engineering holiday," commented on the preparation of the fourth year of the event the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of CTU, Assoc. Professor Miroslav Španiel.
Among the most important companies that will participate in this year's event are Škoda Auto, ČEZ, Rohde & Schwarz, Valeo, Bosch, HiLASE, ORLEN Unipetrol, Siemens and Qminers, as well as many other top employers from the Czech Republic. The participation of major companies will provide students with the opportunity to gain an overview of current trends on the labour market, establish valuable contacts and prepare for entering professional life.
The Career Days will be held in the premises of both faculties in Dejvice, specifically at the addresses Technická 2 and Technická 4, Prague 6. The event will take place on both days from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Detailed information about the participating companies and the programme can be found on the official Career Days website.
