PEGASUS Network is a grouping of 31 universities from 12 European countries. The traditional student conference is a showcase of top student research papers. Individual papers are evaluated by independent reviewers and it is competitive.
‘I would definitely invite visitors to the Thursday afternoon programme, where the Czech-made L-410 NG and Aero L-39 Skyfox aircraft, the future of turboprop engines and, from the space sector, the European satellite navigation system Galileo and earth tracking using AI elements will be presented in a popular educational form,’ said Dr Martin Šipoš from the Department of Measurement at the FEL CTU, who is involved in the organisation of the conference.
Unique software for tracking from space and introduction to aircraft
As already mentioned, one of the lectures will focus on, for example, tracking the Earth from space using artificial intelligence. A unique software that can identify cars, ships, planes, houses and even individual trees has been patented by the Czech company SpaceKnow. It is ranked by defence technology experts as one of the most innovative companies in the world.
At the conference, Aero Vodochody Aerospace will present the L-39 Skyfox, a military light combat aircraft that is suitable for training military pilots and for performing a wide range of defence and reconnaissance missions aimed at cooperation with ground and air forces.
Interesting lectures:
- Galileo: The European Global Navigation Satellite Systems (EUSPA)
- Earth observation in the age of AI (SpaceKnow)
- Current state and future trends in turboprop engines (GE Aerospace)
- Military light combat aircraft L-39 Skyfox (Aero Vodochody Aerospace)
- Twin-engine 19-seat aircraft L-410 NG (Aircraft Industries)
- Innovative Air Mobility and U-space (CSG Aerospace)
The conference is open to all
In addition to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Transportation Science and the Faculty of Civil Engineering are also participating in the organization. Another organizer is the Professional Aeronautical Society of the Czech Republic. Approximately 100 participants from PEGASUS Network partner universities are expected to attend, of which about half will be students. Admission to the Congress Centre during the conference will be free for CTU students and the professional public, and we believe that the interesting programme will attract many more people interested in the field of aerospace.
PEGASUS student conference is held under the auspices of doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc., Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague and RNDr. Daniel Mazur, Ph.D., Prague City Councillor.
The main partners of the conference are Aircraft Industries, a.s., Prague Airport, a.s. AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. and Air Navigation Control of the Czech Republic, s.p.
