OPERATOR - A training platform for the medical operations centre

Simulator for dispatchers of medical operation centres.

Why did I get into product development?

The OPERATOR simulator was developed based on discussions with experts in the field of operations management who wanted a simulator for training medical operations center (MOC) operators. The existing training of MOC operators is done through theoretical education and real-life training. An intermediate step in training is missing. We decided to fill this gap. Thus, a web application was created to simulate the activities of MOC dispatchers, whose task is to provide assistance to citizens by sending an ambulance with a paramedic/doctor in time.

What problems does it solve for its customers?

OPERATOR offers repeatable and measurable testing within the framework of the training implemented, ranging from the state of normal operation, to crisis situations or mass disasters, which are very difficult to train in practice.

OPERATOR offers the implementation of customized scenarios that address problems such as:

  • reducing the adaptation time of new employees
  • training of standard procedures
  • training of emergency and critical incident handling procedures
  • recruitment of new employees
  • training of students

Product development phase

We are in the completed development phase of the Operator simulator and the current Operator offering to customers.

Commercialisation method

We offer the sale or lease of the OPERATOR simulator. We offer expert team support in training dispatchers. We offer the service and the license. We offer the OPERATOR simulator to universities and regional health care centers.

Technical specification

OPERATOR is a simulator of the activities of medical operation center dispatchers . It was created based on the best practices of the work procedures of MOC dispatchers. OPERATOR is a web-based application with the possibility of telephony and the creation of tailored training scenarios, ranging from the state of normal operation, to emergencies or mass casualty incidents. The event window displays pending, resolved, archived, cancelled and forwarded events with standard parameters such as time, patient name, urgency, address, call group request or call sign of the call group assigned to the event. The crew window optionally sorts the bases and their call groups. The map window displays key information about events and call groups in the field. The other OPERATOR windows are used to operate and set up the scenario. Czech and English versions are available. An integral part is the assessment of the person being tested. Telephony provides simulation of communication with crews, hospitals or other IZS units with the help of experienced trainers and dummies. To access the OPERATOR application, a computer, ideally two monitors and Internet access are required.
