  • Annotation:
    Atmospheric changes associated with increased penetration of harmful UV radiation require Berger skin protection with clothing and cosmetics produced expecially for this purpose. UV filters should optimally protect skin in ratio 1:1 (UVB:UVA). They should be applied on wexposed areas 30 minutes efore sun expose and dutiny the day the application should be repeated multiple times. Essentially we should not expose ouselves to sunshine between 10 am and 3pm and childern under 3 years of age should not be exposed at all. The duality and principles of protection are regulated by European institution COLIPA. Recently a great attention is paid to so called bioprotection and duality of so called critical wave length λ2.

    X-rays still play a role in therapy of not only malignant, but also benign skin diseases. The authors summarize principles of generation and acrion of X-rays, especially, concerning application of superficially acring electromagnetic radiation lying in the spektrum between ultraviolet and X-rays, i.e. "Grenze" od "Bucky" rays in dermatology. Indications for Grenz ray treatment are, above all, therapy resistent plaques of scalp psoriasis, nail psoriasis and chronic eczema. Main oncologic indications are mentioned.
