This paper describes how to model a Lithium-ion battery's internal characteristics based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) data and their fitting into an Equivalent Circuit Model (ECM) using Python and the Jupyter development environment. The described method is used on an extensive dataset collected during an ageing campaign of lithium-ion batteries. The work aims to determine the correct values of ECM elements with satisfactory accuracy. The battery's ECM parameter interpretation provides essential information about its internal structure and mechanisms, which helps to understand its processes and estimate its future degradation. It was necessary to deal with two tasks: first, the processing of many measurements, and second, estimating the appropriate input parameters for the ECM. We have managed to practically automate the processing of more than one thousand files with measured data and design and gradually refine a method for estimating input parameters for ECM fitting.

Idling periods are a major part of the Lithium-ion battery operation. Due to parasitic reactions, the battery capacity is decreasing and self-discharge occurs over time. Thus, in order to predict the battery lifetime and optimize its operation, it is required to capture this behavior. In this study, two different storage periods of 2 and 6 months were investigated and used to develop and validate models dedicated to reversible and irreversible capacity loss. It has been observed that while for the shorter storage period, the self-discharge rate does not change significantly, for the longer storage period it decreased during aging. Moreover, the degradation rates vary significantly for various time scales at low temperature, while at medium and high temperatures they are matching closely for 2- and 6-months periodic storage.

The solder spreadability on the soldering surfaces is one of the critical parameters for reflow soldering which is used for electronic assembly. Solder spreadability gives us knowledge about wetting, surface tensions, and reliability issues like bridging etc. This article deals with full factorial experiments of solders spreadability of four different surface finishes (passivated copper, electroless nickel immersion gold - ENIG, immersion tin - ImSn and hot air solder levelling - HASL), and five types of solder paste with the following solder alloy composition: Sn62Pb36Ag2, Sn95.5Ag4Cu0.5, Sn96.5Ag3.5, Sn96.5Ag3Cu0.5, Sn42Bi58. Additionally, three different reflow soldering techniques (infra radiation, convection air and vapour phase soldering) were used in the experiment. The use of factorial experiments is a novelty in our approach. Results show that all used materials and solder pastes have good spreadability. The best results were achieved for copper surface finish.

This paper focuses to the problematic of thin film metal layers. The samples prepared by vacuum evaporation of thin film meander-shaped aluminium layers were analysed. Electrical resistance and thickness of layer were included in the measured parameters. We evaluated these parameters in dependence of the volume of the source material, i.e., an aluminium wire. We observed a certain variance in measured values in a repeated experiment with a constant amount of the originating material. Sets of measured values were processed by statistical methods, namely histogram and Shapiro-Wilk normality test. We observe some interesting facts from the analysed data that can give us information about the influence of the evaporation process on the resulting properties of the layer.

The business intelligence system gradually became of vital importance for many organizations nowadays. But unfortunately, the traditional static modelling may not be able to deal with it. One solution is to use an agile modelling that is characterized with better flexibility and adaptability. The introduced BORM (Business and Object Relation Modelling) method is just an object-oriented and process-based analysis and design methodology, which has proved to be effective in the development and simulation of large and complex business systems such as business intelligence represents. This chapter describes BORM method and presents it on an application example created in Craft. CASE analysis and modelling tool. At the beginning the authors introduce fundamental principles of BORM method and explain the most important concepts of the method. Finally the authors make clear the method in more detail by means of simple and descriptive, but nontrivial, example from real practice.

BORM (Business Object Relationship Modeling) is a development methodology used to store knowledge of process-based business systems. BORM is based on the combination of object-oriented approach and process-based modelling. Especially, in the case of agricultural, food and environmental enterprise informational systems we need to work with new flexible modelling tools, because processes and data are instantly changing and modifying through the whole life cycle of such systems. In this paper, we present BORM use as a tool for capturing process information required in the initial phases of information system development.

There are only very few approaches to normalizing object-oriented data. In this paper we present an approach to normalization of the object-oriented conceptual model based on UML class diagrams. First part of the paper describes the current status in the area of formal methods used for object-oriented data modeling. Second part presents four normalization rules, which are based on own experience and modified Ambler-Beck approach. These normalization rules are introduced on an example. Our method has been used in education at several universities. It has been and is also use of or database design in software development projects, which we carried out. Recently, development of the CASE tool based on this approach has been started.

Based on this comparison, we argue for the approach based on ontologies and present our own software "Selides". Ontological specification is of particular interest to knowledge managers because associated methods support top management in the processing of tacit knowledge into a more explicit form. The goal of our project is to work with knowledge using computer technology. This approach is related to the database technology and can significantly improve the knowledge management in contract to raw work with volumes of text and graphics.
