Automated PXI system for measurement of induction machine equivalent circuit parameters

Comparison of Alternative Equivalent Circuits of Induction Motor with Real Machine Data

    The algorithms based on separated control of the motor flux and torque are used in order to gain the maximum performance from the induction machine. To push the efficiency and dynamics limits of the IM to its limits mostly FOC or DTC control strategies are used. Both are based on the knowledge of the hardly measurable variable-machine flux. To obtain the information about inner machine flux models based on the machine equivalent circuit are mostly used. Therefore the accuracy of the equivalent circuits has direct influence on the accuracy of the machine control. To reduce the complexity of the mathematical model the resistances and inductances are concentrated to one component and 3 phase winding is assumed to be symmetrical. In order to design control strategy for the induction motor, system equations and equivalent circuit must be established at first. This paper examines and compares some of the issues of adequate machine modeling and attempts to provide a firmer basis for selection of an appropriate model and to confirm or disprove the equivalence of different approaches. The results of the IM model run up are then compared to the results obtained from the measurements on the real machine and the equivalency is discussed.

Decreasing of Transient Phenomenon During Induction Motor Switch Over From Frequency Converter to Supply Network

    The paper deals with torque and current transient effects generated by asynchronous motor during changeover between frequency converter and power network supplying. Theoretical analyses, computer simulations and experimental verifications of current transients during switching operations under different boundary conditions are presented. At last changeover optimal conditions are defined.

    This article describes the first part of computer system"Omega 2011", which supports the measuring of inductionmotors. Computer system is related to an automated system formeasuring and data acquisition. Evaluation of data is realized byusing the induction squirrel cage motor, which is modeled afterthe equivalent circuit principle. When calculating the equivalentcircuit for induction squirrel cage motor nonlinear effects oftemperature, power supply voltage and frequency are respected.With respect to nonlinear parameters we can more accuratelyobtain a description of the induction motor by defining thecharacters required for the operational mode.

In the first part you can find basic information about a car with the same concept and motor which has been implemented. Second part of this paper includes information about measurements that have been done on this brushless DC (BLDC) motor. It describes methods of measurements. In this paper you can find characteristics and their comparison with propose values. At the end the paper occupies with possible future analysis of this motor.

    Omega 2007 measuring system is dedicated to be used as automated tool for parameters evaluation of modern induction motors. Measuring system is based on Tektronix TM5000 series devices which are interconnected by National Instruments GPIB-AT bus. Measuring system is controlled from the PC. "Omega 2007" interactive software controls overall system. Software has been developed in "Lab Windows CVI 8.0" environment and computer programme is coded in C.

Two groups of new power converters (Control Techniques) were installed into test stand together with industrial computer network LonWorks to bring laboratory equipment to up-to-date state.
