Prof. Páta plans to build on the work smoothly started during his first term when FEE CTU, under his leadership, managed to implement many positive changes to improve the conditions for the functioning of the faculty and to be able to respond to changes in its environment.
Petr Páta considers one of the most significant achievements of the previous period to be the opening of the FEE not only to applicants for the study of electrical engineering and computer science but also to the general public. In addition, under his leadership, the school has also obtained institutional accreditations: the FEE guarantees two areas of education (Electrical Engineering, Cybernetics) and participates in three others (Informatics, Energy Engineering, Health Sciences).
"I am pleased that the staff and students have confidence in my long-term vision for the future direction of the Faculty," said Prof. Páta.
Prof. Páta's dean's vision for the next four years is "continuous progress and a long-term perspective." Among the nine main strategic points, he mentions, for example, the search for a long-term and sustainable solution for the indoor laboratories in Dejvice and the campus on Charles Square; strengthening the digital infrastructure that will simplify work, not complicate it; developing cooperation with graduates through the Alumni Programme and, last but not least, creating a friendly and motivating environment for employees, including career growth opportunities and the introduction of a benefits system.
Prof. Mgr. Petr Páta, Ph.D. (born 1973) graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague. He has been working at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU since 1996, currently as Dean. Before that he was the Head of the Department of Radioelectronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU. His research interests include image photonics, scientific image data compression, and acoustic-optic and optical systems with spatially variant PSF or hyperspectral imaging.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU is one of the top educational and scientific institutions in the Czech Republic.
