The enchanting melody of this revered composition will once again fill the air on October 31, 2023, during the official representative ball of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU, set to take place in the majestic Empire Hall within Slovanský dům.
The music for dancing will be provided by the band Magnum, whose member is the popular teacher Josef Dvořák from the department of mathematics. The night will feature a live performance by the famous songwriter Pokáč (Jan Pokorný), an alumnus of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, specializing in Software Engineering and Open Informatics (OI) for his Master's program. Furthermore, guests will have the opportunity to marvel at cutting-edge robotics developed by researchers from the Departments of Cybernetics and Computer Science.
A group of students came up with the idea of reviving the tradition of faculty balls, and together with the PR department, they are involved in organising the ball. "Our aim was to create a space where the academic community could unite in a social setting, and a prom seemed to be the perfect choice. It's an event that combines music, entertainment, and dance," explains Barbora Kindlová, the lead organizer from the student team. With a smile, she hints at the intriguing surprises that await on the dance floor, leaving room for anticipation.
The organizing team also includes Radek Korub, Ladislav Pazdera, Jan Kabíček and Arleta Chaloupková.
