About Academic Senate

The Academic Senate of FEL CTU is the faculty's highest representative body, playing a crucial role in deciding important matters at the Faculty. This includes, for example, discussion of curricula, budget approval, strategic plans and internal regulations. It is also responsible for electing the Dean of the Faculty and commenting on the appointment of Vice-Deans and members of the Scientific Council.

Through their representatives in the Academic Senate, students and teachers can influence the direction of the Faculty. In this way, they can draw attention to the problems they encounter and contribute to their speedy resolution.

The main task of the Academic Senate is to ensure the effective and fair management of the school and the preservation of the values and objectives of the academic community and society as a whole.

However, the majority of legal documents discussed by the Academic Senate are in Czech and the official procedural language of the Academic Senate is therefore Czech as well. To avoid any inconsistency, we kindly ask you to use an automated translation of our Czech website. Thank you for your understanding and please contact us if you need help with anything.
