Microprocessor Control of AC Electric Drives with an Emphasis on Efficiency of Operation

  • Branch of study: Electrical Engineering and Communications
  • Department: Department of Electric Drives and Traction
    • Description:
The topic focuses on controlling of electric drives with an emphasis on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation. The aim is to develop and to implement control algorithms in a signal processor and simulation environment. The researched control strategy should pursue the objectives of: increasing the efficiency of the traction drive using suitably modified control based, for example, on improved mathematical models compensating for parameter variation, increasing the drive dynamics and control accuracy, improving the efficiency of a particular class of algorithms such as the field-weakening strategy or maximizing the use of the capabilities of modern signal processors and field-programmable gate arrays in the control of electric drives.
