All research topics are carried out in cooperation with leading European institutes in their respective areas, such as the University of Southampton for hollow-core fibers, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in visible light communication, Northumbria University for free-space optics, and the University of Valencia for microwave photonics. Members of our team frequently visit our research partners which boosts their scientific career and helps ensure top-level results. We have a number of both national and international il projects in both applied and basic research.
Our results in microwave photonics and visible light communication pave the way to new data transmission systems in the framework of both 5G networks and beyond. Our uniquely interconnected approach for hollow-core fibers yields the world´s best results and enables follow-up research into various cutting-edge components. In visible light communication and optical camera communication we proposed new data transmission techniques which enabled new applications for Internet of Things systems.
