MAFIA seminar: Luigi Provenzano (Sapienza Università di Roma)

Abstract: We consider the eigenvalues of the magnetic Laplacian on bounded domains of R2 (and more in general, on Riemannian surfaces) with uniform magnetic field β > 0 and magnetic Neumann boundary conditions. We discuss bounds for the ground state energy λ1 and we present a reverse Faber-Krahn inequality for simply connected domains. Based on joint works with Bruno Colbois (Université de Neuchâtel), Alessandro Savo (Sapienza Università di Roma) and Corentin Lena (Università degli Studi di Padova).
