In 1930s, at the time of its origin, the house bulit for the Czech Technical University Institute in the Prague quarter of Dejvice belonged to the most modern of its kind. This conclusion is backed up by a forgotten brochure published by one of its planners - architect Severin Ondrej - together with layouts and unique photos of the exterior and interior of the building.

Na pražském Vítězném náměstí zůstává i po osmdesáti letech nezastavěný pozemek, který patří vysokým školám. Stále není jasné, kdy a jak bude dokončeno náměstí velkoryse navržené profesorem Antonínem Englem.

The German Technical University (Deutche Technische Hochschule Prag) existed in Prague since 1869. After the Munich events in September 1938, the school started to transform from Czechoslovak state estabilishment in to Reichs om coming thus under non-formal influence of the Reichs administration. In the years 1939-1945 principal changes and reforms took place, based on reichs taws and regulations. Inf 1940 the school was newly divided into three faculties: Faculty of Science, Faculty of civil Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical Engeneering. As the war was progressing and both students and lectures were being sent to the front line, teaching was cut down and some of the desciplines were closed. On the contrary the lectures were involved more in war research. In year 1945 the school was closed down.
